About JEE (Advanced): The Indian Institutes of Technology (popularly known as IITs) are institutions of national importance established through an Act of Parliament for fostering excellence in education. This Program prepares the students for JEE Main/JEE Advanced to give the best desired output and performance. Program which comprises of 480 plus hours is divided into five phases. It includes comprehensive coaching and practice sessions in the form of tutorial classes. The first three phases comprise of class XI syllabus. Phase IV & V comprises of class XII syllabus which will be completed by the end of November. At the end of each phase there will be a computer based adaptive test.

Each institute has well-equipped modern laboratories, a state-of-the-art computer network and well stocked technical library. Teaching methods rely on direct personal contact between the teachers and the students and the use of traditional and modern instructional techniques. Students live in a pleasant and intellectually stimulating environment with people having similar goals and aspirations, which is an exciting and unique experience.

Through JEE (Advanced), IITs offer admission into undergraduate courses leading to a Bachelor’s, Integrated Masters or Bachelor-Master Dual Degree in Engineering, Sciences, or Architecture. Both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees awarded to candidates enrolled in the dual degree programs upon successful completion of the course curriculum. In a few of the IITs, students enrolled in the 4-year Bachelor’s program have the option to convert to B.Tech (Honors) or B.Tech. With Minors. However, not all programs and courses are available in all the institutes. The courses that we will be offering, we will announce at the time of seat allocation (i.e., filling-in of choices for admission). The programs are credit-based and thus offer the flexibility to progress at one’s own pace. A minimum level of performance is essential for satisfactory progress. The medium of instruction is English. The essential details of the examination are as follows

Schedule of JEE (Advanced) 2020
The Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) 2021 will be conducted by the IITs under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board (JAB) 2021. The performance of a candidate in this examination will form the basis for admission to the Bachelor’s, Integrated Master’s and Dual Degree programs (entry at the 10+2 level) in all the IITs. The decisions of the JAB 2021 will be final in all matters related to JEE (Advanced) 2021 and admission to IITs.

Both the papers are compulsory. The exam will be held in fully computer-based test mode.
The schedule will remain the same even if the day of examination is declared a public holiday.

Eligibility Criteria
All the candidates must fulfil all of the following five criteria to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2021.

Criterion 1 – Age limit: Candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1995. In countries where a minimum stint in the armed forces (or allied) for a certain period is mandatory before/after Class XII (or equivalent) exam, the candidate will get relaxation of the required number of years. In such cases, the candidate will have to upload a certificate/testimonial issued by competent authority to this effect at the time of registration.

Criterion 2 – Number of attempts: A candidate can attempt JEE (Advanced) a maximum of two times in consecutive years.

Criterion 3 – Appearance in Class XII (or equivalent) examination: A candidate should have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2019 or 2020.

However, suppose the examination Board of Class XII (or equivalent) declares the results for the academic year 2017-18 after June 2018. In that case, the candidates of that board who appeared for their Class XII exam in 2018 are also eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2021, provided they meet the other eligibility criteria. In case, the examination Board of Class XII (or equivalent) declared the results for the academic year 2017-18 before June 2018. However, the result of a particular candidate if withheld, then the candidate will not be eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2021.

Criterion 4 – Earlier admission at IITs: A candidate shall NOT get admitted in an IIT irrespective of whether or not he/she continued in the program OR accepted an IIT seat by reporting at a reporting centre in the past. Candidates whose admission at IITs if cancelled after joining any IIT are also NOT eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2020.

The candidates who paid seat acceptance fee in 2020 but (i) did not report at any reporting centre OR, (ii) withdrew before the last round of seat allotment, OR, (iii) had their seat cancelled (for whatever reason) before the last round of seat allotment for IITs, during the joint seat allocation in 2020, are eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2021.

However, in the above cases, the candidate is required to fulfil the conditions mentioned from criterion 1 to criterion 3.

Examination Pattern
The examination will an entirely computer-based test mode. The exam consists of two papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2, each of three hours duration, and will be in two sessions. Both the papers are compulsory.

Performance in Class XII (Or equivalent) Board Examination

The candidates should satisfy at least one of the following two criteria for admission to IITs:

  • Must have secured at least 75% aggregate marks in the Class XII (or equivalent) Board examination.
  • Must be within the top 20 percentile of successful candidates in their respective Class XII (or equivalent) board examination.

About Joint Entrance Examination (Main) –2020
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the JEE (Main)-2020 Examination twice for admission to Undergraduate Programs in NITs, IIITs and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) in the next academic year (2021-2022).

Eligibility criteria for B.Arch and B.Planning courses according to the opinion of Subject Experts, a few changes in the pattern of the question paper(s) and the number of question(s) for B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch and B.Planning have been approved by the JEE Apex Board (JAB) for the conduct of JEE (Main)-2021 Examination.

The above Examinations will be held in “Computer Based Test” (CBT) Mode only, except that the Drawing Test for B.Arch. “Pen & Paper” (offline) mode. A candidate may appear in B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch and B.Planning depending upon the course/s he/she wishes to pursue.

The candidates aspiring to take admission to the undergraduate programs at IITs for the year 2020 will also have to appear in B. E. /B. Tech. Paper of JEE (Main)-2020. Based on the performance in the B.E./B. Tech. of JEE (Main)-2020, number of top candidates as per the requirement for JEE (Advanced) 2020 will be eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced)- 2021.

Admission to IITs will be based on category-wise All India Rank (AIR) in JEE(Advanced), subject to the conditions as would be mentioned in JEE(Advanced)-2021 Website.
